At GoodCore, we believe in empowering the next generation of innovators. That’s why we were proud to sponsor Wilson’s School robotics team, Wilsobotics, as they took on the FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC), a prestigious global robotics competition for students.
A team on the rise
Formed just last year in 2024, Wilsobotics has quickly made a name for itself in the world of student robotics. With determination, teamwork, and impressive technical skills, the team soared through the FTC regional qualifiers, securing a spot at the UK National Championships.
Making waves at the nationals
The UK National Championships brought together the 64 best teams from across the country. Competing against the very best, Wilsobotics gave an impressive performance.
The team secured the Think Award, recognising their engineering process and innovative approach, and went on to become finalists for the prestigious Inspire Award, which celebrates teams that best embody the spirit of FTC.
They capped off their incredible run by finishing as national finalists, placing among the top four teams in the UK, and only narrowly missing out on the championship title.

While this year’s competition has wrapped up, the Wilsobotics journey is far from over. The team is continuing to refine and improve their robot, gearing up for the 2025–26 FTC season.
